The lukewarm press rarely tells the whole truth and nothing but the truth! With all the fuss behind the story of the burning of the Koran "bible," few know the real reasons for this pastor's outcry. There are two factors that affected their protest. The first being a story that received very little attention, that of the Pentagon confiscating and burning a stack of Christian Bibles that was privately sent to an Evangelical indwelt Christian soldier in Afghanistan. The Bibles were printed in the local Pashto and Dari languages. The reason the Pentagon said they needed to confiscate and burn the Bibles was to ensure that troops did not breach regulations which forbid proselytizing and that rules on the base say that all garbage must be burned at the end of the day. Hummm - garbage? It does make me wonder if the U.S. Military would seize a stack of Korans and burn them as well. The answer is NO! The Military suggests that an act of burning the Koran would insight political and religious violence. Since Christians typically are pacifist, the decision to reinforce government guidelines has lesser consequences.
The second primary reason of protest was over the issue of the mega-mosque being built at Ground O. Whatever the opinion of this pastor, the fact remains that he, and his followers, have the prerogative to make their voices known as long as it is within the confines of the law. Again - the issue is not freedom of speech, it is our liberal government avoiding political and religious violence.
The fact is the U.S. government is tragically afraid of the Muslim people. They receive reports on a daily basis of actual real to life threats of harm if the U.S. offends the Islamic nation. Since the Muslim religion is the most organized religion in the world AND backs their threats with real noise, like most spoil-children, they get the attention they are demanding. Why - because the parent(s) (government) doesn't want to be embarrassed.
It is no longer rumor that the Islamic nation would like Obama to become their supreme leader, Amir-ur-Momineen or Caliph. The question is does the President want the job? Rumor does have it that our President has his eyes fixed on the first World Chancellor post, but at this point in time, it is conspiratorial at best. In any case, the issue over offending the Muslims is hyper-sensitive issues to our President. For our U.S. Military to burn five Christian Bibles without an ounce of protest from our President but to have a "nobody" pastor of 50 followers threaten to burn one Koran and it commands a Presidential speech? That factor alone should tell the world something is wrong! But it won't! Nor do I expect it. Darkened minds make dark decisions and light is seen only by those who have been given eyes to see.
So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; (Eph 4:17-18 NASB).
That is, because the unsaved is alienated from the True and Living God, and particularly because of the blindness of their depraved darkened hearts. The fact is seen now in our fruitless discussions that our nations understanding of Truth has become darkened by their indulgence in sin and in emergent fables. A people who are intemperate, have no just views of the government or Truth. A people who are of a fragmented mind, have no perception or view of neither the light of Truth nor its foundation of purity. A nation, who is jealous, has no just views of God's form of government. A people who indulge in selfish opinions, weaken their nation's power, and render it incapable of Truthful intellectual effort. Indulgence in demanding what is right (democracy) destroys the nation’s ability to reason, and unfits a nation to embrace the Truth that could set them free. A nation of 310,238,448 million we the people deserve a Pluralistic Global Leader, for it is the only way to satisfy their thirst!
Certainly something to pray about …
